Vellarika Pachadi/ Field marrow in yogurt sauce


Ingredients:

  1. Cucumber- a small one
  2. Yogurt- half cup
  3. Red Chily- 3 nos:
  4. Curry Leaves - a few
  5. Salt-to taste
  6. Mustard Seeds- a few
  7. Coconut Oil- 1 tspn

Method:

  1. Cut cucumber into small pieces
  2. Cook the cucumener and add Yougurt into it
  3. Splutter mustard seeds in oil along with red chily and curry leaves
  4. Add it into  the yougurt cocumber mix
  5. Add salt and serve
Variation: You can also add a mix of grinded coconut green chillies and fennel seeds into the above dish. Can also use, okra,bittergourd or beetroot instead of cucumber. Okra should not be boiled instead should be fried lightly.
