Chocolate Crinkle Cookie

A word on this special cookie. It is to die for. You cannot simply eat one especially if you are a die hard chocolate fan. Share them, it will add more joy to any occasion. Best made during christmas time.

Ingredients:-

  1. Unsweetened Cocoa powder- 1/2 cup
  2. White Sugar- 1 cup
  3. Melted butter- 1/4 cup
  4. Eggs- 2 large
  5. Vanilla Extract- 1 tsp
  6. All purpose flour/wheat flour- 1 cup
  7. Baking powder- 1 tsp
  8. Salt- 1/4 tsp
  9. Powdered Sugar- 1/4 cup for rolling the cookies
*If you don't have baking powder , you may mix 1 tsp of baking soda with a tsp of vinegar or lemon juice.

*You may use any neutral tasting oil instead of ghee or butter, but i recommend the latter as they are natural and a healthier option.

*Same goes for wheat flour. I recommend wheat flour over maida. The greatest success is that you won't even notice the difference. Always choose the healthier option.

*You could even use brown sugar which is less processed.

Method:-

  1. In a large bowl sieve cocoa powder and sugar.
  2. Add the melted butter and beat in one egg at a time and combine everything well using a whisk or spatula.
  3. Add the vanilla extract. Sieve together flour, salt and baking powder and add it to the mixture and combine well.
  4. You should get a wet sticky dough. It should not be a pourable consistency like for the cakes, after all we are making cookies.
  5. Keep the cookie mix refrigerated for at least 4 hours
  6. Once out of the fridge make small lemon sized chocolate balls out of the cookie dough and roll it in powdered sugar.
  7. In a preheated oven on 180 degrees you may cook it for 12 to 15 minutes.
  8. Once the cookies are out of the oven, allow it to rest and cool completely before storing in the cookie jar.
*With this much of dough you can make upto 18 cookies easily.
* Either use a small ice cream scoop or small scooping spoon to get even sized cookies
