Chocolate Crinkle Cookie
A word on this special cookie. It is to die for. You cannot simply eat one especially if you are a die hard chocolate fan. Share them, it will add more joy to any occasion. Best made during christmas time.
Ingredients:-
Ingredients:-
- Unsweetened Cocoa powder- 1/2 cup
- White Sugar- 1 cup
- Melted butter- 1/4 cup
- Eggs- 2 large
- Vanilla Extract- 1 tsp
- All purpose flour/wheat flour- 1 cup
- Baking powder- 1 tsp
- Salt- 1/4 tsp
- Powdered Sugar- 1/4 cup for rolling the cookies
*If you don't have baking powder , you may mix 1 tsp of baking soda with a tsp of vinegar or lemon juice.
*You may use any neutral tasting oil instead of ghee or butter, but i recommend the latter as they are natural and a healthier option.
*Same goes for wheat flour. I recommend wheat flour over maida. The greatest success is that you won't even notice the difference. Always choose the healthier option.
*You could even use brown sugar which is less processed.
Method:-
- In a large bowl sieve cocoa powder and sugar.
- Add the melted butter and beat in one egg at a time and combine everything well using a whisk or spatula.
- Add the vanilla extract. Sieve together flour, salt and baking powder and add it to the mixture and combine well.
- You should get a wet sticky dough. It should not be a pourable consistency like for the cakes, after all we are making cookies.
- Keep the cookie mix refrigerated for at least 4 hours
- Once out of the fridge make small lemon sized chocolate balls out of the cookie dough and roll it in powdered sugar.
- In a preheated oven on 180 degrees you may cook it for 12 to 15 minutes.
- Once the cookies are out of the oven, allow it to rest and cool completely before storing in the cookie jar.
*With this much of dough you can make upto 18 cookies easily.
* Either use a small ice cream scoop or small scooping spoon to get even sized cookies
