Aloo Samosa


Ingredients:

  1. Boiled & Mashed Potato- 3 no:
  2. Boiled Green peas- 2 tbsp. (optional)
  3. Chopped Onion- 1 medium
  4. Chopped Green Chilly- 2 no:
  5. Garam masala- 1/2 tsp.
  6. Salt- To Taste
  7. All purpose flour/Maida- 1 cup
  8. Wheat Flour/Aatta- 1 tbsp.
  9. Water- for kneading dough
  10. Mustard seeds- a little
  11. Turmeric powder- a pinch
  12. Oil- for frying
Method:

  1. First mix maida, aatta, and salt with enough water and make a dough consistent to chappati.
  2. Divide the dough into small equal round balls and roll out small discs. You can use any plastic lid to get to the perfect round shape.
  3. Now cut the discs into semi circles and keep aside.
  4. To make the filling; in a sauce pan splutter some mustard seeds in oil and sauté onions, green chilly along with turmeric powder, garam masala followed by the mashed potatoes and peas.
  5. Once it is well combined, take off from gas and allow it to cool.
  6. Now take the rolled out semi circle discs and bring one end to 2/3rdof the disc as it forms a conical/triangle shape and bring the other end similarly and seal it with some water.
  7. Hold the conical shaped discs in your palms as you would hold a cone ice cream and put a tsp. size of filling inside and seal the edges with some water.
  8. Now in a wok add enough oil for deep frying and fry the samosas until golden brown and serve hot with ketchup.
