Oats porridge/payasam

This is a quick and easy recipe anyone can try. I find oats in just milk so bland. So I came up with this version just like how we make Semiya payasam here in Kerala. Happy cooking.

Ingredients

1. Oats -1 cup
2. Milk - 3 cups
3. Sugar - 5 tbsp or according to your taste
4. Cardamom pods crushed/ grinded- 5
5. Golden raisins- a handful
6. Cashew nuts - a handful
7. Ghee - 2 tbsp

Method:

1. In a sauce pan pour the milk and cook oats until it is done. Followed by sugar and cardamom powder.

2. Meanwhile fry the cashew nuts and golden raisins in ghee and add to the oats mix.

3. Best served hot.

Tips:-

1. You can grind the cardamom along with sugar to make your work easy.

2. Do add more or less milk according to the consistency you prefer.

3. Try almonds or black raisins or any other dry fruit of your choice.
