Unni Appam


Ingredients:-
  1. Well ripe Banana (preferably the sweetest banana you can find, the smaller ones) - 6 or 7
  2. Rice flour- 3 or 4 tbsp.
  3. Sugar cane Jaggery grated- according to taste (alternatively you can use sugar as well)
  4. Salt- a pinch
  5. Sunflower oil- for frying
Method:
  1. Mash the bananas add the grated  jaggery, salt, rice flour and make a thick batter. It should have the consistency of a very wet and clumpy mix.
  2. Spoon them and make it as much round as you can and deep fry in oil.
  3. Enjoy them while hot with tea.
Tips:-
  • Traditionally unni appams (small fried breads) are made in a special wok that has small round spaces that can be filled with oil and gives them their unique shape, but you can always try this method as well. The taste is nonetheless the same.
