Bead fruit stir fry with Coconut/ Kadachakka Thoran
Ingredients:
- Raw bread fruit – 1/2 of one bread fruit
- Coconut Shredded – 5 tbp
- Green chilies – 3
- Turmeric powder – ½ tspn
- Garam masala powder – 1/2 tsp
- Coriander powder – ½ tsp
- Garlic – 3 large pellets
- Shallots ( small onions) – 100gms
- Coconut oil – 2 tbp
- Mustard seeds – few
- Red chilly – 3
- Curry leaves – few
- Salt –to taste
Method
- Peel the skin of bread fruit and cut into small pieces.
- Grind coconut and green chillies aong with the spices
- Heat oil in a vessel and crackle mustard seeds
- Add red chilly and curry leaves, followed by the shallots
- Then add the pieces of bread fruit salt and water and stir well.
- Add the smashed ingredients at the center of the vessel and close the vessel with a lid.
- When the bread fruit pieces are cooked, open the vessel, stir well ( Cook on low heat)
- Serve hot ( 3 to 4 servings)
