Chembu Curry/Yam Curry


Ingredients
  1. Chembu/Small yams- 4 or 5
  2. Grated coconut- 1/2 cup
  3. Green chillies- 4 to 5
  4. Shallots- 5 nos
  5. Turmeric powder- a pinch
  6. Cumin seeds- a pinch
  7. Mustard seeds- a pinch
  8. Curry leaves- a few
  9. Salt- to taste
  10. Coconut oil- 2 tbs
  11. Red chillies- 2 or 3
Method:
  1. First peel the yams and cut them in large cubes and boil in water until soft.
  2. Grind coconut,3 shallots, tuemric, green chillies and salt into a fine paste
  3. Add the coconut mixture into the cooked yams. If you find excess water please drain before adding the mixture.
  4. In a wok splutter mustard seeds, cumin seeds, shallots,curre leaves and green chillies in oil and add it to the yam curry.
  5. Add salt to taste and serve hot with brown rice.
